BOTHI — Objects to Live With
Bothi is an Amsterdam-based design house creating small-batch furniture, lighting and objects that occupy the space between gallery design and everyday life. Each piece is thought of as something to live with and allow to change over time rather than just an item to be owned. Its work is based on a meticulous attention to material, proportion, and lifespan.

Production is purposefully kept close to home. Bothi's dedication to honest materials, precise construction, and a restrained approach to form is shared by independent manufacturers and specialized workshops in the Netherlands, where pieces are produced locally. The studio welcomes the minute deviations, manufacturing traces, and material changes that give an object character as it ages rather than striving for perfection for its own reason.

The collection brings together Bothi’s own designs with a considered selection of works by other makers. Different voices and practices coexist within the same framework, connected by a shared belief that collectible design does not need to be distant or untouchable. These are pieces intended to become part of daily life: used, moved, marked, repaired and eventually passed on.

There is an emphasis on objects that resist the temporary. Forms are reduced without becoming anonymous; materials are chosen for how they feel, perform and mature rather than for novelty alone. Stainless steel, aluminium, wood and textile are allowed to retain their natural qualities, reinforcing a visual language that feels direct, functional and quietly expressive.

Everything is made in the Netherlands. Some pieces are produced in small batches, while others are made individually in Bothi’s Amsterdam workshop. The scale of production allows the studio to maintain a close relationship with every object and with the people involved in making it.
