Mimi Easel by Helena Trindade
€890.00
The starting point of this project was the 4 solid steel spheres acquired in an
antique shop, used in the past to play bocce.
As an object designer who is passionate about table art stands, the first idea that popped into my mind when I purchased these 4 metallic balls was: how can I design an art stand using them, which could also behave as a table sculpture at the same time?
The sphere, a heavy element, is placed at the bottom of the piece, to bring the stability an art stand needs. That is held by a solid Freijó wooden ring, which enriches the visual contrast of the piece by adding to the sculpture a layer of texture and also the warmness of the wood colour. The two last structures of this 4-part piece are the vertical and horizontal surfaces, which ultimately hold the artwork in place.
This is a limited edition piece – 4 available – made to order. Production time: 2 to 3 weeks
